Coach Clements 3rd grade was able to work on basketball skills. They used Angry Birds to work on bounce passes, learned to pass to each other, worked on dribbling, and had fun shooting.

Welcome to our P.E. blog
I am excited about the possibilities of our P.E. blog! I hope to use this blog to let parents see what is going on in our P.E. classes. So often it seems when we ask our students what they do in P.E. each day they will say they exercise and run. While that is true, so much more goes on in our class each day. I am going to try to keep this blog updated with information and pictures about each coach's unit through out the school year. We have already had a hopscotch around the world unit, a four square unit, jump ropes, overhand and underhand throwing. Through the rest of the year we will have golf, football, basketball, volleyball, and several other units. One of our most exciting events that we have coming up is the Iron Bowl challenge. The Iron Bowl challenge is a cooperative games challenge based around the Alabama/Auburn game, full of events that teams must work together to complete. Keep an eye out for pictures and to see who wins.
Angry Birds
With some of our P E. fundraiser money and some help from Mrs. Nelson the P.E. department was able to purchase 2 "Angry Birds" game sets. These sets allow the students to "get into" the game. Students are divided into two teams, one team works together to set up the towers and pigs then the other team works together to throw "Angry Bird" balls and knock the towers over to get the pigs to fall to the ground.
Hopscotch around the world
A few weeks ago, Coach Clements' classes participated in a hopscotch around the world unit. Students were introduced to the basic game of hopscotch and were then introduced to hopscotch from several different countries. One of the favorites was France's Escargot. The board is shaped like a snail shell.
